      Job Hunting & Career Development
 We need two things:
          Hope
 Tools to discover our truest vision for our own
             life

For job hunters or career
changers
 Free Agent
      Athlete
      Marketer
      Entrepreneur

What the mind can conceive, it
can be achieved.
 It’s not the government or employers who pull
us out of job. It’s the consumer who recreates
         the job-market.
 The truth that there are always jobs out there.
May be not exactly the job title you are looking
         for.

There Are Always Jobs Out
There
 Why not look for a job that really fits you, and
gets you excited about getting up in the
        morning.
 There will never, ever be another you. The
world has never seen anyone quite like you
before, and it will never see another You again.
Your fingerprints unlike anyone else’s on earth.

Where Do I Go From Here
with My Life
 Aim High. Identify a job that you could feel
passionate about. Cut your dream down to
only half, then you hunt for it with only half
the enthusiasm. Never settle as you venture
        through life.
 It ain’t easy. To labor, to sweat, if we are to
achieve anything. We cannot expect anyone to
come and carry us onward and upward. It will
call for your character, determination, and
        persistence.

Where Do I Go From Here
with My Life
 The importance of a Vision for Your Life. I think that a
person’s highest calling is to serve others.
      Creating the Vision
 By intuition. If you felt most called to do in life
was to make movies, it wouldn’t matter what
your skills are, because almost any skills you
have could be put to use there. So, ask yourself.
what kind of footprint do you want to leave on
this earth, after your journey here is done?
 By luck. Luck depends on stumbling across
someone with information that you don’t have.
Get out more. Talk to more people.

Where Do I Go From Here
with My Life
 Never give up.

Where Do I Go From Here
with My Life
 He or she who gets hire is not necessarily the
one who can do that job best; but the one who
know the most of how to get hired—RICHARD
         LATHROP
      Rejection Shock.

No No No No No No No No No No No No No
No No No No No No No No No No No No No
             No No Yes.

The Best Ways to Look for a
Job
 Three Easiest Ways to Look for a Job:
 The Internet. Search job online. Post your
resume, so employers could find you. Like
             posting on www.thecareerocean.com. It’s free
             and easy.
          Answering ads in newspaper
 Going to private employment agencies.

The Best Ways to Look for a
Job
 The Six Effective Ways to Hunt for a Job:
 Post resume. Be known. Become searchable to
             employers.
 Knock on the door of any employer that interest you.
Whether they are known to have vacancy or not.
 Use Yellow Pages to identify subjects or fields of interest
to you. Ask if they are hiring for the type of tasks you
             can do, and do well.
 Ask for job-leads from: family members, friends, people
             in the community.
          In a job club. Job-hunter community.
 Doing a life-changing job hunt. What, Where, and How.
 Use not just one of them, but up to four of them.

The Best Ways to Look for a
Job
 At least two different kinds of employers.
Those who are interested in hiring you and
those who are not interested in hiring you. For
the latter you should thank them for their time.
Ask if he know anyone who might be
interested in someone like you. Then gently
leave and write a thank-you note.

How to Deal with
Handicaps
 You may be obsessed with the fact that you are
handicapped, that you have forgotten all the
things you can do. Unless you’re thinking of all
the reasons why employers might not hire you,
instead of all the reasons why employers
would. Unless you’re going about your job-
hunt feeling like a job beggar, rather than as a
        resource person.

How to Deal with
Handicaps
 One handicap. Shyness.
 A lot of people are frightened to go and talk to
people for information, never mind for hiring.
 Talk about something you are passionate about
        because it’s the key.

How to Deal with
Handicaps
 The primary purpose of a resume: get yourself
invited in an interview. The primary purpose of an
interview is to get you invited for the hiring
        interview.
 Every person you know, is a contact. Ask if one
know an employer would hire someone like you and
        your passionate skills.
 The more people you know, the more people you
meet, the more people you talk to, the more people
you enlist as part of your own personal job-hunting
network, the better your job-finding success is likely
        to be.
 Post your resume on website like
Thecareerocean.com. So to be known to employers.

Resumes & Contacts
 An interview resemble dating, trying to decide if both want to
go steady. It’s not science, but very art.
 Employers think the way you are doing job-hunt is the way
you will do the job. Were they foolish enough to hire half-
        heart job hunters.
     Employers want concrete examples.
 Employers don’t really care about your past, but ask in order
        to predict your future (behavior)
 Go after small organizations with twenty or fewer employees.
 Identify who has the power to hire you there. Use mutual
        friends and contacts.
 Approach them as if you were resource person, able to
produce better work for that organization than any
predecessor; not as a job beggar.
 Write a thanks-you note the same evening. They see you are
        good at people.

How to Choose a New
Career When You Must
 Most of us embark on this search because we want to be
        happier.
 Son, I will never understand you.
 Man’s native gifts or aptitudes.
 First talk to people who are already doing that work.
 It’s ok to make a mistake, in your choice. You’ll have time
to correct it, down the road, regardless of your age. Most
of us have three to five careers, during our lifetime.
 The clearer your vision of what you seek, the closer you
are to finding it. For, what you are seeking is also seeking
        you.
 Don’t expect a college degree in some career field will
guarantee you a job. It will not.

How to Choose a New
Career When You Must
 Life is not about work but music.
 Go and talk to people who are doing business.
 Join business club or chamber of commerce.
 What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.
 The degree of responsibility you take determine how much you
          create.
 Running a business is not about having money, but how we make
          it work.
 It all start from you. How could you trust others who know less to
take care your business. How could you trust others whose
business is not their own to take care your business.
 When start something, problem ahead. But we solve it along the
          way.
 Don’t worry about a team, cause we can train them.
 Go to international exhibition (Hong Kong or Singapore) to find
          good suppliers.
