Applying for Permanent Residency
Documentation Required
• Current passport – must be valid for at
least six months from the date of the
application.
• A criminal record check from the national
law enforcement agency.
• A copy of the individuals most recent tax
declaration.
It is necessary to hire a Salvadorian lawyer to begin and complete the
process of obtaining residency.
First, a 1-year temporary permit will be issued (which can be renewed each
year), and 5 years later, the applicant can apply for a Salvadorian citizenship.
