6. In a nut-shell, BlondeTraveler is a fun game and support-service for females traveling Southeast Asia who experience a lack of direction and travel-related frustrations on the road. We solve that problem by providing direction in a game-type format, along with travel support, and information. so they can concentrate on enjoying themselves and learning more from their trip. This means that less-developed nations will become more accessible for western female travelers.

13. Why this is the best idea ever Having traveled Southeast Asia as a female backpacker, I learned the wants and needs of women on the road. There is no service like this , and it is one that is very much needed by the female traveling community.

31. Why people would fork out cash for this service When you’re traveling on $25 a day (as many young women are), less than paying 50 cents a day to a service that will make your life so much easier (and also provide you with ways to save and even make money) is a no-brainer . Furthermore, worried parents would happily pay for this service to ensure their daughters a safety net on their travels.

37. If you take away nothing else… Remember this: - there is a currently untapped market for western female travellers in Southeast Asia - there is a website that has already proven popular and statistics show the demand is there - this window of opportunity will not last forever

Notes de l'éditeur
We want to encourage females to be more adventurous, social, and culturally-active than they otherwise might have on their travels, while also providing them with a safe environment for their experiences.
Blonde, you see, is not necessarily about the colour of your hair. It’s also an ackronymn.
So, here’s the elevator pitch
-there will be a live chat function and we’ll make sure their questions are answered quickly and simply -we’ll get guest houses and other backpacker joints to join on as partners, so that they can offer discounts to our members in exchange for being advertised on our site -rewards are key to getting people to contribute content
As with many sites nowadays, we’ll have both a free and a premium section The free section will have helpful things like articles, place reviews, and tips and tricks The premium section will have the travel challenge
Members are given a list of challenges, and they must complete them on video, and upload the video to the website. Other members can then vote on the videos on the website, giving them a ranking from 1 to 10 stars.
Team profiles - with team photo and name There will be a flash map of the region they’re in, and you’ll be able to see where each team is, with the size of the team avatar being dependent on how many points they have. We’ll also have monthly BlondeTraveler events
The game is a lot like a scavenger hunt, except without the time limit they typically have, and with the added element of recording the challenge on camera It will pay for participants to create entertaining videos, because the most entertaining videos each week will get 10 points extra
The website and competition will be an important tool for tourism promoters 1. Become a main sponsor five spots available, by invitation-only , Main sponsors are co-branded with the BlondeTraveler logo, brand will appear on all BlondeTraveler promotional material, and on all top videos that go viral from our site. 2. Sponsor a prize Winning teams receive prizes ranging from $3,000 to $5,000 USD in value. If businesses have a product or service of this value that they would like to provide a winning team, their brand will be associated with BlondeTraveler for the entire lead-up to the team winning the prize, and their product or service will appear on all the top videos competing for that prize. 3. Sponsor a challenge If businesses have a product or service located in one of the regions in which BlondeTraveler operates, they may wish to sponsor a challenge. This would mean that the BlondeTraveler team would work to incorporate their product or service into a challenge, so that competing teams would promote your product/service by associating with it in their videos/photos/blogs. So for example, a challenge could somehow incorporate a certain restaurant by having team members go there and perform a task there, like signing their team name on the wall of Angkor What? Bar. 4. Become an Affiliate If businesses sell travel services or tickets, they may wish to get involved with BlondeTraveler by including membership sign-ups in their packages. We would offer 15% of the sign-up fee to affiliates. Affiliate members would also have their logos displayed on the BlondeTraveler website and in some promotional materials.
I have spoken with hoardes of females who have expressed a need for guidance and help when traveling this region. There is also huge need for a safe environment and safe community in which these girls can pay a small fee to get the help they need.
Thus, the majority of businesses are set up by men
It is the only way information flow on the internet can survive. He says the best way is to mix up paid for content and free content.
I plan to create a video with my girlfriends of us doing some dares in Bangkok, and have it made into a peppy, fun, 2-minute video. With my contacts in the travel industry, I will send it out to loads of online travel sites in the hope that if it’s awesome enough, they will publish it.
We’ll make membership free initially, if you send the site to 20 of your friends. We will create a commission-based sales team, with people canvassing the streets, selling memberships for commission (say 20%). We will also tell people that if they can get one friend to join with them, they get 50% off their membership, and if they get two friends, their membership is free. This should create a massive awareness of the site.
Finally, being 20 minutes from Khao San Road is a huge advantage, as the street is flooded daily with our target market. I would like to do some kind of event on Khao San to generate awareness about the site. When the site is ready, this would be the ideal location for the launch party.
I have loads of articles that we can fill up the back end with from my old BlondeTraveler site, plus I will be contributing many more as we go. But the major thing about the site is that it’s based on people contributing their own content – they create blog posts, travel tips, photos and videos, and submit them to us, we build up a huge library of information for free.
Obviously, I need some money to get a site like this going. I had a friend of mine do an estimate on how much he thought the site would cost, and he said we could definitely do it for $15,000 USD, and if we cut corners, we could do it for $10,000. If we set up the business in Hong Kong or Singapore (which, having spoken to a few people about setting up businesses in SEA, seems like the best way), we could do get a business license for $1,000. As it goes with setting up a business, there will be other administration costs involved, so a budget of about $5,000 would be workable. As I’ve mentioned, one of the keys to making this site popular will be guerrilla marketing. I happen to be an experienced PR, so I know I could work with a marketing budget of $5,000 and do some pretty cool things to promote the site.
