- There are several different ways to access European Seabed Habitat data. The following slides focus on the mapper
- The EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) is a flagship data product of EMODnet Seabed Habitats. It predicts habitat types based on coarse scale physical information.
- The EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) is accompanied by a set of confidence maps, which scores the confidence in the habitat map and its input layers on a scale of low, moderate and high.
- The EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) is accompanied by a set of input environmental data layers, such as this one: photosynthetically available radiation at the seabed.
- The EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) can be filtered by habitat type. Here are two examples around Sicilly.
- The EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) is useful for regional- and national-scale assessments, such as MPA network assessments (e.g. representativity) and determining MSFD GES against various indicators.
- As well as the broad-scale map, the portal contains a growing collection of more detailed habitat maps from surveys, classified according to the European classification system, EUNIS – currently there are none of this type of map in the Eastern Med.
- In addition, the portal contains a growing collection of detailed habitat maps from surveys classified according to the Habitats Directive Annex I list – currently Greece is the only country with this type of map.
- In addition, the portal contains a growing collection of outputs from various modelling studies, such as this one predicting the presence of maerl habitat by the MediSeH project.
