Snapchat. Snap Ads are the ads you see in between Stories and in the Discover
section of the app.
COST: $10,000/month
Sponsored Lenses
Sponsored Lenses on Snapchat are for big budget campaigns only. The cost varies by day
of the week, holiday, and length of campaign. We’ve seen lenses from brands like Taco Bell,
X-Men, Gatorade, Kraft, and others. This is the most expensive ad offering from Snapchat.
COST: $450,000 - $750,000/day
Local Geofilters
Geofilters are the least expensive ad offering from Snapchat. Geofilters are filters that appear when you
are in the app, within a certain geographical area. The CPM on Geofilters is typically quite good. Unless
there’s a special event, geofilters of a few blocks can cost just $5, but can range into the thousands
depending on the campaign and duration.
COST: $5 and up
Snapchat Discover
Snapchat has a Discover section in the app where publishers like ESPN, CNN,
Cosmopolitan, People Magazine, and others share content. You can pay to be in the
Discover section, but it can be pricey. But you’ll get millions of views being placed here.
COST: $50,000/day
Snap to Unlock Filters
Snap to Unlock Filters are a less popular, but very unique, ad offering from Snapchat.
Recently, Kendall Jenner partnered with Garage Magazine on one. There was a code in
a magazine issue that, when snapped, unlocked a special filter available for a few hours.
COST: $5,000+
Snap to Unlock Codes
Snap to Unlock Codes are similar to the Snap to Unlock Filters. When the codes are snapped, they take
users to unique, exclusive content within the app. You can do this officially through Snapchat, or you can
hack your way and do a DIY version that can still be very effective. The example below was from the
movie The Girl On The Train.
COST: $5,000+
Nationwide Sponsored Geofilter
Nationwide Sponsored Geofilters are a newer offering from Snapchat. These are
similar to local Geofilters, but these can be applied to similar locations across a
country (think McDonald’s or retail stores).
COST: $50,000+
Snapchat Influencer Partnerships
Snapchat influencer campaigns are not an official ad offering from Snapchat, but they
are a very effective form of advertising. Influencers on Snap undervalue their reach and
