TheWindsortrainstationFeaturespolychromebrickwork,roundarchedwindows,a
truncatedhiproof,eavesconsolesandprominentchimneystacks.Acappedbrickwallanda
footbridgesupportedoncastironEgyptianstylecolumnswithdecorativebrackets.
WindsorStationwasbuiltinthelate1800'sandwasinpoorcondition,havingbeenleft
with very little maintenance over the last 50 years. The Hawthorn bricks were still in
reasonable condition but the mortar had been severely washed out in some places,
leavingtheTuckPointingvirtuallynonexistent.

Firstlytheatmospheric(trainengine)grime,paintspotsand `patch`
repointingrepairworkfromthebrickfacewaspainstakinglycleanedand
removed...
Nextallofthemortarjointswereraked/cutback...
Finally,thejointswererefilledwiththeappropriatelycolored
basemortar(multiple)and TuckPointingwasapplied.
Therestorationtookaround6monthstocomplete.
Thechimneybrickworkwasdismantled,brickbybrick,eachbrickwascleaned,
thenthechimneyswererebuiltexactlyastheywere(withnewmortarandTuck
Pointing).
