We are holding a short taster session at Rochdale Town Hall on the 25th of May. This is being run in partnership with Barclays Bank and Rochdale Council. This taster session will introduce energy efficiency and provide some top tips for saving energy.
We are also running some half day workshops to go into more detail and give you more support to implement energy saving changes and these are being held across Greater Manchester with workshops already booked in Manchester, Bury, Trafford, Tameside and Stockport.
Later in the year we will be running the specialist masterclasses to follow up on these Quick Wins workshops.

Long St improvements – The Council is spending more than £1m improving the paving on Market Place, Long Street, Rochdale road and Mellalieu Street. The Council is looking to assist up to 30 commercial properties in this area to improve their premises, particular focusing on improvements to currently vacant properties, to encourage new business, this is supported by a range of other business support offered by the Council.
THI – The Edgar Wood and Middleton THI is a £3m scheme, two-thirds funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
To date, more than £2m of both public and private investment in property restoration and public realm improvements (Middleton Gardens) have been carried out directly through the THI.
Middleton now has more than 2,000 annual visits from individuals interested in the town’s unique heritage.
