This presentation has all the information you need to get a free Learndirect taster course with Connecting Learners in the 3rd Sector (North & Mid Wales), a Wales Union Learning Fund project organised by Unison and hosted by Cartrefi Cymru

1. How to get a free Learndirecttaster course

2. This guide is here to help you access a free Learndirect taster course.You will see some images of what will appear on your screen as you go through the process.

3. Tip: The blue circle shows you where you need to be looking on the screen.

4. First of all, you need to let us know that you’re interested in doing a Learndirect course.Go to http://bit.ly/LDandCL3

6. This will take you to an online form. It’s really easy to use and takes about 5 minutes to fill in.

8. Complete all 4 stages of the form, using “Continue” to move forward. Tip: A red star* next to a question means you have to give an answer.

13. Great, you’re now registered with us. The next step is that you will get an email from the address DoNotReplywith the title Welcome to Learndirect Business

14. Open the email and write down your username and password (which should be Password1)

16. Then click the hyperlink http://www.Learndirect-business.co.uk/leofferto go to the Learndirect website, then click “Log In”

18. Enter your Username and Password, then click the “Log In” button

20. Now you will need to change your password.First click the “Personal Details” tab on the left hand side of your screen

22. You will then need todelete the characters in the Password and Verify Password boxes, type in your new password into both of these boxes then click the “Save Changes” button.

25. You’re now all set and can browse the online catalogue. There are dozens of taster courses to choose from. Click on the “Catalogue” tab on the left of the screen to start browsing

27. You can search for courses by their title or description. (I’m going to look for a course to build my skills with Microsoft PowerPoint)

30. Or view the courses by category

34. Either way, you can view the details of the course by clicking on the title. You can also choose a start-date.To request the course just click the round, grey button at the bottom.

38. The Connecting Learners Team will then send you another email. Click through the link in the email to log in to your account

40. Log in as before, then click on the “My Courses” tab

42. This will bring up a list of your courses. Click the title.Tip: Be sure to finish course before the end-date

44. This will bring up the course curriculum. Click on the name of the first unit of the course.Your course will pop-up in a new window.
