  App. 930 million international travellers

  East Asia's share in spending: > 16% of global total

  China's share: app. 5% in number of travelers and in total spending

  China since 2004 Asia's biggest tourism source market
   (including trips to Hong Kong and Macao)

  China from 2009 probably Asia's biggest tourism source market
   (excluding trips to Hong Kong and Macao)

  But: Spending on international tourism per person in China
   still below 30 US$/year! (World average 100 US$)

Of 531 executives and managers living in and outside China, 22% of
respondents think that in 2020 China will be the world leader, 33% think that
China will be the origin of the world’s top brands, and 15% think that China
