  1. 1. OPTICAL SYSTEMS LASERS & MATERIAL PROCESSING INDUSTRIAL METROLOGY TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS DEFENSE & CIVIL SYSTEMS HOMMEL-ETAMIC IPS10 Bore inspection sensor system Typical inspection applications • Master & wheel brake cylinders • Pump housings • Con rods • Fuel pump housings • Pistons Main features • Automatic inspection of bores with 360° panoramic Precision is our business. view • Detection of surface defects such as blow holes, scratches, porosities, etc. • Inspection of bores with diameters form 14 to 50 mm • Bore depths up to 156 mm (optional max. 456 mm) • Image pick-up in motion • High inspection speed • State of the art CMOS imaging technology • Resolution: 2800 pixels over 360° • Scanning speed up to 10,000 scans/second

Surface defect Image of bore picked up with IPS10 Ring sensor array IPS10 Workpiece 0° 360° Functional principle A 360° circular optics is advanced into the bore and generates an image of its inside surface. Circumferential lines in the bore are represented as rings in the image. The image is continuously scanned by a high resolution CMOS imager. Simultaneous forward advancing of the inspection sensor and circular scanning allows for the generation of an undistorted image of the inner surface of the bore. Thanks to the high scanning rate, the IPS-10 can be advanced rapidly, which allows for short inspec-tion Technical data IPS10 Inspection diameter 14 - 50 mm Inspection length (bore depth) 156 mm / up to 456 mm (option) Circumferential resolution 2800 pixels Image sensor CMOS technology Scanning speed max. 10,000 scans/second Workpiece illumination integrated System configuration 1.
