2. Knowledge and Justice for all
• Because the French government believes that
no one should be ignorant to law, so they
provide access for everyone to understand it.
• Similar to America, the French will provide
everyone the right to have their case heard
and receive fair judgment.
3. Paying for justice
• Pleaders do not have to pay the justices for
the right for their cases to be heard, the
justices are payed by the state.
• On the other hand though, everyone does
have to pay for their lawyers except in certain
situations where legal aid is provided.
4. Types of Courts
• Civil courts- include district courts, regional,
commercial, employment tribunals,
agriculture land tribunals, social security
triunals.
• Criminal courts- include police, juvenile,
military, political etc.

5. Who can be Judges?
• In the French Judicial system only citizens are
eligible to become judges.
• After they become judges they either will be
public servants or simply become members of
the profession.
6. Supreme Court
• Like America France has a supreme court that
acts as a last resort when all the lower courts
failed to find the right verdict.
7. Judicial Power
• Most of the power that the judicial system
receives is from the executive system which is
different from American government which
has separation of powers.
