Constant Learning
 Learning is an attitude.
 Be willing to explore and evaluate everything you learn… even the obvious.
 Learn how to ask good questions.
 You will never know everything! Always act and think like you are a
beginner, ask a lot of questions, and it’s amazing what you will learn!
 Thinking and analyzing are skills, skills that need to constantly be
exercised!
 Think you have the answer… dig deeper!
 “If a person will begin with certainties, he will end in doubts; but if he will be
content to begin with doubts, he will end in certainties.” – Sir Francis Bacon
 Reaching your full potential involves having difficult conversations with
yourself and pushing yourself to go further.
Adapted from The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell.
Be an Active Listener
Listening goes hand in hand with learning.
Millennials are labeled as not being good listeners.
Just want to learn what they want to learn.
Not willing to listen to the wisdom of the past.
You never know what you are missing when you don’t
listen.
Find a Mentor
The best way to be come better at what you want to do
is to find people who are already doing it and model your
behavior after them.
Books
1x1- Informational Interviews, Mentorships, Coaching,
Teachers, etc
Surround yourself with people who are thinkers and
learners, likeminded individuals.
Adapted from The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell.
“You will never maximize your potential in any area without
coaching. It is impossible. You may be good. You may be even
better then everyone else. But without outside input you will never
be as good as you could be. We all do better when somebody is
watching and evaluating… Self-evaluation is helpful, but evaluation
from someone else is essential.”
Andy Stanley
Author of The Next Generation Leader
Action
It is one thing to find your passion, it is another thing to
pursuing it.
“Its our choices,… that show what we truly are far more
then our abilities.” Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter and the
Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling)
What can you do every day to either work towards your
purpose or live your purpose?
Action= Living your potential
Do NOT be afraid to fail.
How did I put these into action?
Love when it is hardest to Love.
Help people learn to help themselves.
Have the difficult conversations.
Persistence & Perseverance
None of this is easy.
Reaching your full potential can sometimes be the least
“sexy” activity that you can find… Yet it is the most
fulfilling.
Daily Steps
Be aware, alert and open minded
Success does not come over night. There is no such thing
as an overnight success.
In Summary
1. Self Awareness
2. Learn to be a Learner
3. Be an active Listener
4. Find Mentors
5. Action
6. Persistence and Perseverance in the face of obstacles
“The greatest gift you can give to someone is your own
personal development.”
