2. INTRODUCTION
❖ A good warehouse implementation takes care that products automatically move to
their appropriate destination location.
❖ To make that process easier, Odoo uses Putaway rules.
❖ Putaway rules is a set of rules that deals with the process of taking products off the
receiving shipments and directly putting them into the most appropriate location.

3. ❖ To setup Putaway Rules you need to go to Inventory > Configuration > Settings and search
for Storage Location and activate it.

4. ❖ Now you will be able to see a new item in the menu Location in Inventory > Configuration >
Location. You can create a new location if you want to. Just click on the create button.

5. ❖ A form like this will be open up, you need to add details like its name, parent location,
location, type, etc.

6. ❖ You will be able to see a new item in the menu Location in Inventory > Configuration >
Putaway Rules. Here you need to click on create button and you need to fill details like
product or product category, default storage location where product arrives, the location
where you need to store the product and save it.

7. ❖ Now create a Purchase Order for the product. And receive the product to inventory.

8. ❖ Now go to Inventory > Reporting > Product Moves, under this product you can see the product
have been moved directly from the partner location to the Location you have specified in
Putaway Rules.
