THE SIMPLICITY
SMART EQUIPMENT
CONTROL SYSTEM
Versatile
The Simplicity SE control can be configured to use a standard
thermostat (easy to connect screw terminals), a sensor, or communicate
with multiple protocols to integrate with building automation systems.
Reduce field installed complexity—Each unit comes equipped with
factory installed supply, return, and outdoor air temperature sensors.
On-board USB Port
The new control comes with multiple features including: schedules,
previous faults and update capabilities that are downloadable
to a removable memory (flash drive) via an on-board USB port.
Self test and start-up reports are also available from the board.
Energy base-lining capabilities can be tracked, ultimately making your
system operate more efficiently at all times and occupancy levels.
Embedded LCD Display
Easy to use navigation buttons allow the user to quickly navigate
through functions and fault codes. Flash codes are not needed
with the clear language fault description on the LCD screen.
Safety Monitoring
Monitors each independent refrigerant circuit’s high, low-pressure
switches and suction temperature as well as outdoor, return and supply
temperatures. On units with heating, the gas valve and high temperature
limit switches are monitored on gas and electric heating units.
The control also monitors the voltage supplied and will protect the unit
if low voltage (due to a brown out) or other electrical issues occur.
	 Low Ambient
An integrated low-ambient control allows all units to operate
in the cooling mode down to 0°F outdoor ambient without
additional assistance. Optionally, the control board can be
programmed to lockout the compressors when the outdoor air
temperature is low or when free cooling is available.
	 Anti-Short Cycle Protection
To aid compressor life, an anti-short cycle delay is incorporated into
the standard controls. Compressor reliability is further ensured
by programmable minimum run times. For testing, the anti-short
cycle delay can be temporarily overridden with the push of a button.
	 Fan Delays
Fan on / off delays are fully programmable. Furthermore, the
heating and cooling fan delay times are independent of one another.
All units are programmed with default values based upon their
configuration of cooling and heat.
	 Nuisance Trip Protection &Strikes
To prevent nuisance calls, the control board uses a“three times you’re
out” philosophy. The high / low-pressure switch, anti-freeze protection,
low the unit control board will perform a lock out. The same safety
must trip three times before a hard or soft lockout will occur.
CONTROLS
FOR YOUR
APPLICATION
Controls are a key component
in maximizing efficiency and
minimizing service issues.
Whether your needs dictate
a basic, programmable ther-
mostat or a fully automated
building controls system,
we not only understand the
technology, we know how to
strategically fit the right controls
to meet your objectives.
This state-of-the-art unit control takes the best
of the already proven (Simplicity) unitary
controls & makes the equipment smarter, easier
to install, operate and service while keeping
up with technologies and regulations.

Packaged Heating and Cooling Units
Designed and Built to Perform
York’s commercial heritage is built on our reputation
of innovation and performance – providing best-in-class
products that meet the challenge of the most
demanding environments.
100% Test Run of Each Unit -
Prior to Shipping
Each unit is run tested per AHRI Standards. All model
numbers and serial numbers are logged into the SCB
and records kept showing exact pressures of the unit
while tested in the factory, prior to shipping.
Efficiency Improvements
York is a recognized leader in efficiency improvements.York
RTU’s exceed the minimum level of energy rebates standards.
Cabinet
York units, unlike some competitors, have a powder coated
finish - not a standard paint spray process. The cabinets
are made from insulated, heavy gauge steel with the
industry leading 1000 hour salt spray rating per federal
PERFORMANCE.
EFFICIENCY. RELIABILITY.
BUILDING QUALITY - Right here in America
Exceeding customer expectations requires continual advances and attention to detail. Building your York
unit in America ensures that we can closely monitor and improve processes that directly affect quality.
The performance and reliability of your unit is the result of strict tolerances and rigorous testing that continues
throughout the entire process. It’s also the result of dedication and hard work. It takes more than just
metal and circuitry to make a York unit. It takes people of integrity from right here in the heart of America.
WARRANTY

test standards. Each unit is complete with full perimeter
base rails for rigging and convertible from side to bottom
discharge in the field. All York units have rounded corners
and sloped tops for drainage.
Lower Repair Costs
The unit control board has a factory standard
communication feature, allowing internet access
(networking capable) to troubleshoot the rooftop unit
from a remote location. In many cases, this feature
eliminates the need to conduct a site visit for preliminary
troubleshooting. Control logic allows up to 164 units
to be“daisy-chained” for complete communication
between all rooftop units on a given customer site.
Warranty
1 year parts on the complete unit
5 years on the compressor
10 years on the heat exchanger
For ease of doing business, all warranty claims are sourced
through the network of York branches and distributors.
Extended warranties are available.
EQUIPMENT
START-UP
York works with your general
contractor, installation

Planned replacement gives you peace of mind and keeps
your business running smoothly and cost effectively.
• With the high efficiencies of new
equipment, you can immediately
begin recouping your return on
investment with lowered utility costs.
• Avoid emergency logistics, costs
and disruption to employees.
• Allows time to plan the capital
expenditure and implement the
best solution.
