6. • Actually, Akash had to struggle a lot to find the best-suited
strategy. He failed several times in this process. But eventually
He succeeded. But actually, this entire process was very useful
as He overcame most of my weaknesses and deduced an
effective strategy.
• His strong will was his strategy because He never gave up or
Doubted his potential. He practiced a lot to improve his speed
and accuracy. He solved previous 7 year’s GATE Exam
Papers. He took mock tests and joined online test series before
the exam.
AKASH DHIMAN (GATE 2017- 171 AIR)
7. • Anupam started preparing for GATE since his second year
itself. It is very important to first develop your concepts and be
thorough with the courses in our curriculum and then practice
with test series. He took the online test series where He used to
make many silly mistakes. He improved on them and in the
exam, He performed well by minimizing it. His gross score was
80 and in the normalized form, He secured 88.39. He had never
expected an AIR 1. He knew He had done well and was
capable of a rank in the 20s or 30s but AIR 1 came as a
surprise. NPTEL lectures, books, his notes, a handbook of
formulas and course books was what he referred to. He never
joined any sort of coaching classes.
ANUPAM SAMANTARAY (GATE 2016 AIR-1)
8. • Nadeesh advice to all the future GATE aspirants:
• Do not get bogged down by anything. Be it the vast syllabus,
your not-so-good academic record, level of competition or
anything else. The best way to deal with a problem is to solve it,
instead of just running away from it. If you feel you’re going
through hell, keep going. Just don’t give up at any stage. Fight
till the end.
NADEESH AGARWAL (GATE 2015 AIR-21)
9. • Khantesh planned to appear for GATE in January, 2015. He
started preparing for this exam from the sixth semester itself.
He accelerated his preparation from September, taking the
seventh semester of college exam lightly. He tried to complete
the GATE Syllabus by the end of December, 2015, and left
January, 2016, for revision. He was never hard on himself
during preparation and followed his interests simultaneously.
KHANTESH AGRAWAL (GATE 2016 AIR-12)
10. • Divyanshu started his preparation during his final year at
college. However, this became tough due to a heavy college
work load. To compensate, he tried to study at least 30 hours
only for GATE on a weekly basis. After completing his
graduation in 2016, He took up a job. However studying
became too tough so I quit in October 2016 and concentrated
on my preparation. After He quit his job, He took up studying up
to 60 hours per week for next 3 months.
DIVYANSHU JHA (GATE 2017 AIR- 8)
