During my time at Auburn University, I have received a well-rounded
education. I graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
public relations with a minor in leadership.
I chose to major in public relations because of my love for people. My
coursework solidified my decision. Through my classes, I have learned
the importance of AP style, how to conduct a survey for a client and
much more.
I added the leadership minor to compliment my leadership roles on
campus. The minor is set up not only for students to learn valuable
leadership skills but also includes classes in management and world
affairs.
Time management is very important as I balance classes, on-campus
involvement and other responsibilities. This past semester I interned 15
hours a week while also taking 15 hours of classes.

I learned several things from Macey; however, there are a few take aways.
1.) Keep in mind the audiences you speak to.
2.) If you seek a job in public relations, know it is a 24/7 job.
3.) Learn to take advantage of the spare minutes you have between tasks,
or time management.
