freshwater fish.

ground corn or cassava, milk, eggs, and cheese

Paraguay's climate overall is characterized by high humidity and warm
temperatures year-round, with hot and rainy summers, and mild winters with
significant temperature variability that can bring both frosts to practically the entire
national territory, as well as heat waves.

6. Sports
Paraguayans are fond of sports. While football soccer is the most-popular sport,
fishing, tennis, basketball, and golf are also common. The annual Transchaco
Rally, a three-day motor rally covering thousands of miles of dirt roads of the
sparsely populated Paraguayan Chaco, is held in September. Paraguay made its
Olympic debut at the 1968 Games in Mexico City.

Encarnacion:The so-called ‘Pearl of the South’ reclines carefree on the banks of the Parana River, drawing crowds of
Asuncenos (people from the capital) during the summer with the promise of pristine riparian beaches and the

Cerro Cora National Park:This pint-sized natural reserve is unquestionably one of the most dramatic and breathtaking
sections of backcountry in all of Paraguay.Only recently established, it encompasses a great swathe of undulating
savannah and highland terrain, where otherworldly hills peak above the swaying grasses and mosquitoes buzz
around the shuffling carapaces of armadillos.

Dia de San Blas
This festival, held February 3 annually, celebrates Paraguay’s patron saint. Saint
Blas festival sees its biggest celebrations in the city of Ciudad del Este, which has
week-long open-air events leading up to it.
