Students spend only a short time in the academic environment, which includes a wide variety of information resources, but what happens after graduation? After graduation many students are left wondering if the only place to find information is through an online search engine. It is becoming increasingly important, partially due to the rapid pace of information creation, to introduce students to credible information resources to use during professional careers. Through instruction to upper division engineering course the librarian has started introducing students to the definition of open access, resources available through professional organizations and how information might be organized within the corporate setting. Through this instruction, students gain skills to continue to participate in the scholarly conversation throughout their lives.
