Main area of activity:
I will be working in film as it is the medium in which I enjoy the most, am most passionate
about and is what I would like to go into in the future. For this project I am specialising in a
documentary style piece of work, I will do this by adding factual pieces, maybe some
interviews and I will also back this up with footage of myself working out at the gym.
Throughout the past two years I have learned new techniques and gained many new skills
such as time-management, organisation and planning. With the skills I have gained this will
help me throughout my project to work well on my interviews, footage and research towards
the project of facts I will use throughout. I improved on my technical skills, such as my editing
skills on Premier Pro and Photoshop, this led to many pieces of my work to look more
professional, which is what I am hoping for for my final project. This should hopefully make my
project successful and with the skills I have gained it should also lead to my work being at its
best potential. For my factual project I produced a documentary piece which has some similar
ideas to the ideas I have for my FMP, this has led me to feel more prepared for this project,
but it has also made me more comfortable with the equipment, types of locations and things to
use throughout the piece, such as what questions and information to get.
I would like my project to be enjoyable and factual while showing the ways of working out, and
my aspect of it on peoples mental and physical health. I will show this by documenting what I
do at the gym, but what I also do when I’m not working out, that could be my dieting or other
sports in which I do. I will go into detail on the factual side of the gym, like the effects it can
have on you, statistics, etc. I will be showing the audience why I do it, and what I want out of it,
I would also like for it to be a transformation video of myself and how I have improved on
myself throughout the making of the project. I will include pieces of footage of myself talking
towards the audience about what I will be doing and how it is affecting me throughout the
production, this may include days where I am not that motivated, but it will also include where I
will be motivated. While going to the gym it has changed my perspective on things in life, as it
has made me happier, and it has made me view myself in a better way in which I would like to
show to the audience. I will talk about how I feel mentally, physically, and I will show this with
footage of me working out and of me talking to the audience. I will be researching different
techniques I can use when filming and editing as it is slightly different to projects, I have done
before as this piece will be more personal and will be following my process throughout my
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will use self-evaluation throughout this piece of work, but I will also ask my peers and tutors
on what I can change or improve on, and after getting feedback I will either rewrite, refilm, or
do whatever improvement that my piece of work needs for it to be at its best standards. I will
self-evaluate by doing a weekly diary, talking about what I need to do to improve my work, or
what I am unhappy about with the work I have produced throughout the week, and I will
improve my work the following weeks to make it as best as it can be. This will help make my
work better and more professional as it is something I will do towards all pieces of my work. It
will also help getting feedback from other people as I will have other perspectives of my work
from others and I will get more feedback from others, either that being the same feedback or
