Introducing the new way to
shop on Choose Energy
We’ve made some big changes to
how customers shop on Choose
Energy
Let’s take
a tour!
Personalized results based on
your bill!
When you tell us where you are, we show the state average
usage for the month. We also put in the Price to Compare -
your utility’s current residential supply charge. This information
will update your cost over the life of the plan. In Texas, it will
adjust which pricing tier – 500, 1,000, 2,000 kWh – you fall in.
Grab your bill and put in your own usage and price to get more
personalized results – updated savings over
the life of the plan.

Your information will allow you tee see your
cost in real dollars. No more ¢/kWh as the
main way of shopping – it’s actually what
you’ll spend and save. [And if you love
¢/kWh it’s still there!]
And we’ve created
recommendations to make
your shopping easier
How do we get these
recommendations? We have a LOT
of data!
We know historic pricing data and seasonal usage
trends so we can recommend the best plans
based on that data for you.
These are NOT paid placements but our best
recommendation crunching a lot of data on your
behalf
We’ve also created 5 categories of
our most popular ways of shopping
for plans
Choose Energy’s best plan
based on a combination of
price, yearly cost data, term
available, feedback, supplier
reputation and enrollment
rates
Want to “set it and forget it”?
These long-term plans give
you peace of mind that your
rate won’t change for the
duration of the plan
Want low prices but hate the
uncertainty of your rates
suddenly jumping? So do we!
This plan is our lowest fixed-rate
plan
Looking for a fully
renewable plan? These
plans are green and a
great value!
Who do you trust more than
what others are in your area
are choosing? These plans
represent the most popular
plans on Choose Energy in
your area
Still want to see more?
All on one
page, sort or
filter the full list
of plans –
target the plan
that’s right for
you!
Clicking on details opens up all
the important information!

Notes de l'éditeur

  1. Maybe start w/ the full view to give users the full picture before diving into each piece?
  2. See next slide. I’d put that first as it impacts how the cost and savings is calculated. It’s more of an estimate than an actual. Calculated using the monthly state usage and price of the plan. Key to note it represents the average cost per month over the life of the plan. Also, if a user wants to compare plans by price per unit (kWh, therm, Ccf, Mcf), they still can.
  3. Best plan also takes into account the yearly cost data and looks at recommended term if it’s available in the user’s service area.
  4. The plan details page, which includes the fees and offers, is probably more compelling here.
