KEY SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Proactive Fault Finding, Improved Maintenance Procedures and Reducing Mean Time Between Failure –
Hands-on experience in determining and repairing faulty equipment to increase availability while striving towards
optimising maintenance procedures and reducing Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). At Endeavor Mine (Cobar, NSW), the
hoisting winder regularly became defective/inoperable which affected the availability of the hoisting system. Successfully
spearheaded team to investigate the issue and identify its root cause and log the results and subsequently conduct repairs
and preventive maintenance, thus extending MTBF. Actively enhanced hoisting winder availability by implementing
appropriate action.
Maintenance Planning, Permanently Resolving Issues – Competent in maintenance planning and execution as
well as resolving issues. At Endeavor Mine (Cobar, NSW), post thorough analysis of the hoisting winder issue, formulated
and implemented a plan to eliminate the problems completely by hiring specialist electrical contractor to install new cabling
from the surface controls to each level of the shaft without interfering with the hoisting systems operation. Subsequently
led four teams, including off-site and contract electricians – one for each level and the surface – and put the hoist out of
service for a 12-hour shift further enabling changeover from all existing cabling to new cabling and controls with only
minimal start-up problems. This operation tremendously improved its reliability — and enhanced productivity.
Upgradation and Risk Mitigation for Regulatory Compliance – Demonstrated expertise in enabling necessary
process upgradations and mitigating risks while ensuring adherence to defined regulations. At CSA Mine (Cobar, NSW),
following radical changes in regulations to operational, maintenance and safety standards and codes of practice relating to
hoisting winders in New South Wales, successfully tackled the predicament of retaining the old winder by successfully
addressing the upgrades required to have the system conform with the new standards and newly defined parameters.
Directed high level electrical engineers to enable upgrades by installing new components/mechanisms as well enabling
temporary measures under risk assessment guidelines. Simultaneously making preparations to install a new hoisting winder
— which would eventually replace the old system — adjacent to the existing shaft by actively completing temporary yet
compulsory upgrades to the old system, evaluated risks and ensured exclusion of some expected upgrades, all in liaison
with the NSW mines inspectors, major electrical engineering firms and CSA mining management.

2. Improved Efficiency and Process Automation – Competent in enabling process automation and improvement
for smooth execution of organisational activities. At CSA Mine (Cobar, NSW), efficiently steered installation of additional
equipment to increase efficiency of mine underground refrigeration system. Closely coordinated with mechanical
supervisors and formulated a plan to enhance capacity of the refrigeration plant by 50% through effective budgeting and
planning for installation of four new cooling towers, additional compressor and associated infrastructure. At Hill 50 (Mt
Magnet, WA), following a serious issue of fuel theft, played a major role in installing an RFID system which traced the use of
diesel by vehicle, operator and time; it further prevented fuel theft and facilitated significant savings of approximately
$20,000 per month for the company.
Proactive Planning, Process Streamlining and Process Efficiency – Showcases keen attention to detail while
steering continuous process improvements to accomplish defined goals in support of cost, profit and organisational
objectives. At CSA Mine (Cobar, NSW), proficiently identified a critical bottleneck in the ore production cycle which had
arisen following the use of hoisting winder to maintain surface stockpiles. Enabled relevant changes to the shaft
maintenance program including personnel roster and utilisation of the winder leading to a prolonged flow of ore through
the processing cycle. For the Mine (Cobar, NSW) and Endeavor Mine (Cobar, NSW), effectively realigned an inadequate
Pronto FMMS into a structured asset management programme to deliver daily, weekly and long-term maintenance work
orders and efficiently monitor health and availability of all assets.
Languages – Fluent in English along with intermediate knowledge of Russian.
