Job boards need to evolve beyond simple job postings.
Google for Jobs poses a long-term existential threat to Job Boards. Employers can have their jobs indexed directly by Google and appear in Google for Jobs. A majority of job searches today are conducted on Google and this is likely only going to increase in the future as the job search experience for candidates improves with Google for Jobs.
Job boards obviously recognize tis threat – 23 Job Search Websites in Europe are asking regulators to conduct an antitrust investigation into Google for Jobs.
Job boards should go deeper into the hiring process, and add more value.
By adding real value – beyond simply advertising jobs – job boards can stay relevant as hiring partners for employers. Google for Jobs will always flood employers with applicants – but instead, why not supply better applicants?
How can job boards supply high quality applicants? Via pre-hire assessments.
These assessments, especially for (low-skilled) high-volume and entry-level positions can be of great benefit to employers to save time in filtering candidates and reducing turnover – fewer assessed applicants end up quitting during the first 6 months.
RightHire provides assessments that measure job-specific cognitive abilities and work personality characteristics based on DOL O*NET taxonomy. These two type of tests together are one of the best predictors of job performance.
RightHire’s assessments can be used for any type of job. Out-of-the-box, RightHire provides assessments for 800+ types of jobs in the economy. Employers can also easily customize an assessment for a job easily within 30-minutes by a SME providing a anchored-scale rating on 38 different job characteristics.
Employers can adjust the assessment time for each candidate. The out-of-the-box assessments for 800+ different types of jobs each have a duration of 15 minutes or less.
RightHire’s assessments can be used on either a desktop or a mobile device.
In testing, reliability means that if the same candidate takes the test two different types, he would get a similar score. Predictive means that the assessment can predict the future job performance of a candidate based on the test score.
RightHire’s assessments are both reliable & predictive.
You can help your clients assess ALL candidates – whether they enter via your site, or from another source
Our proposal to Job Boards is as follows:
We will provide our assessment platform to Job Boards. Job boards can either provide the platform for free to their employer customers or charge employers for assessments
If Job Boards charge employers, they need to share revenue with RightHire. Otherwise, they need to pay the first time each new candidate completes a RightHire assessment
Similar to Indeed, Job Boards should integrate Assessments as a part of job postings to make it optional and simple for employers to add an assessment to their job postings. RightHire will provide the technology for easy integration
Job Boards can co-brand with RightHire using “Powered By RightHire”
RightHire will provide the technical support for employers and candidates
RightHire will provide the marketing materials to Job Boards to increase employer adoption of Assessments
