Local health department (LHD) directors in
Northern IL region began meeting informally in
1999. Soon there was a realization that area
LHDs shared:
• Similar demographics and health status concerns
• Progressive view of the role of Public Health
• Concern for public health funding
3. FORMALIZING THE RELATIONSHIP
Incorporated as a 501(c)(4) in 2002
Established Bylaws, Dues Structure, Board of Directors / Officers
Eight Founding Counties:
