2. Damianada Cunha Sertanista -Damianada Cunha’s life was lived throughout the context of the late colonial aldeia. -She was married at a time but was later left as a widow then later remarried to a Brazilian civilian. -She was considered a strong leader of the Indian community and was a loyal supporter of the Church while she interpreted its teachings to everyone around her. -She died in 1831, that unfortunately sparked a downfall in the Indian community.

Catarina de Monte sinay -Catarina de Monte dedicated her whole life to being a “bride of Christ.” -She attained wealth by various loans that came from renting out houses. -It is said that she died a very rich woman, however it meant little to her, and at times she felt guilty for her treasures because it was acquired at times in unorthodox ways.

History of portugal -During the first millennium BC, constant invasions of the Celts came to Portugal and married with the Portugal people, thus creating more diversity among the population and new different ethnic groups. -The majority of this took place in the southern parts of Portugal. -This was followed by an invasion of the Romans, which occurred in 219 BC.

History of portugal (cont.) -This Roman invasion took 10 years to institute what is modern day Portugal. -During this time the Lusitanians and other native tribes formed a regime to counter the Roman invasion. However it was flawed after the leader of the Lusitanians was assasinated. -This was the opportune moment for Rome as they formed a colonial regime soon after.

History of portugal (cont.) -In Portugal’s later years the Cornation Revolution took place in 1974, where broad democratic reforms were being implemented in most serious fashion. -Through the 1975 to 1976 independence of its colonies, the old Portuguese Empire finally came to an end, being 560 years old.
