Rousseau. Nine days later my mother died.

imprisonment. Rousseau stays in Geneva in the
charge of his mother's relations.

children but I didn’t marry until later in my life.

6. Ideas
• I believed that the government was a very tricky subject.
Governments have to be leveled out.
• I believed that governments success can be measured by
the extent to which its population thrives, meaning that
the government has to work for the people and it has to
adapt to for the people.
• I also believe that understanding our connection to nature
is important to a good education.
7. Who opposed him?
• Many people were opposed to my writings, and
my opinions such as the church, and rulers.
• In 1762, I was driven into exile to Switzerland and
England for opposing the church.
• My book, Social Contract opposed the Catholic
Church's and it was in the “index of forbidden
books” and an order went out for my arrest.
• 1767 I fled from England, returning to France
where he was still wanted by the law.
