3. National K9Veterans Day
National K9 Veterans Day, March 13,
is a day meant to commemorate the
service of military and working dogs
throughout history.
The first time that dogs were officially
a part of the U.S. Armed Forces was
on March 13, 1942. That was when
the Army began training for its new
War Dog Program, also known as the
"K-9 Corps"

4. Our Rationale
Today's military dogs are valued
as important members of their
military units and even have their
own retirement ceremonies,
awards and memorial services.
Because military dogs are so
valued, the loss of a veteran dog
can be heartbreaking for the
owner of the dog.
Commemorating veteran dogs
can increase morale and boost
the spirit of those who have
served and/or worked with k9
units.

7. Our Design Challenge

Because a good portion of the
audience are currently active in the
military, it could be hard to reach
them due to them working abroad.
Our thoughts are:
• Office/base posters
• Military Media Military Base
Newspaper
• Commercials (to reach their family
members)

VisualInspiration
The style will have a distressed or grunge look
to it, similar to Banksy’s style. The designs
will rely greatly on imagery, rather than
words, and the images will mostly be black
with some dark, earthy colors.
