1. Features of Podcasts
The most important features in a podcast consist of:
1- The possibility to choose a
material between different
items to listen them in an
Mp3 player to organize
different activities or find
exercises to aboard a specific
topic.
2- The media are free and the
students have also the possibility
to create and to acess to these
sites in a free way.
3- To access them is really easy; we must only to search them in an iTunes program,
for example.

like interviews, opinions, oral
comments, conversations
and also the teachers can do
some exercises such as
reading tales or fables. There
are also some podcasts that
we can access through a
subscription, in this way the
selected site tell us about
updates.
The Variety for Podcasts:
1- There are many audio file formats available for distributing podcasts. The Mp3
format is the most commonly used. This one is also the most widely supported
audio format playable by most all portable audio players, Internet connected TVs,
and software based on media players.

3. 2- Another is M4A / AAC
(Advanced Audio Coding). This
one was designed to be a
successor to the Mp3 format.
The AAC format supports Digital
Rights Management (DRM) and
is more commonly found in use
by iTunes. Applications
supported are: Apple, based on
hardware, Android and most PC
software.
3.-The Ogg Vorbis format is
unrestricted by software patents. As a
result, the format is very popular
among open source software
developers and is commonly used in
gaming applications. This one is also
used in the new WebM video format
and might be accepted by many video
players and video playing software.
4.- WMA (Windows Auto Media). This one
is an audio format developed by
Microsoft. The WMA format can support
Digital Rights Management (DRM).
The WMA format is most commonly
found in Microsoft products and select
portable media players.
The suggestions for using Podcasts:
1- For recording: Try to record in a quiet place without outside noise.
2- For the subject: Choose an interesting topic and easy to start a group discussion.
3- For the final presentation: Propose to the students some written opinions about the exercise
and then record them and listen them with yours students.
