Hello, I'm Shean Williams, partner at the Cochran Firm Atlanta Office. In light of all the police shootings that are occurring across this nation, people often ask me, when can a police officer use deadly force? The United States Supreme Court has made that decision and set forth exactly when that can happen. A police officer can use deadly force when he believes objectively that his life or the life of someone else is in danger. If that is not the case, the police officer is not allowed pursuant to the Supreme Court decision to use deadly force. We have prosecuted several cases such as this and we've done it successfully and what we've been able to establish is through evidence, through the physical evidence, and witness testimony, we have been able to establish with also the use of expert witnesses, that police officers have not used deadly force in the appropriate way. If you or a loved one believe that a police officer has used excessive force or deadly force against you, please give us a call at the Cochran Firm so we can see if we can obtain justice for you and your family.
