17 January 2011 Hitler Project Colton Broughton

Rise to Power:

       ● War ends Treaty of Versailles is imposed on the German people. Hitler was
not impressed with what was involved with the treaty.
       ● Was invited to join the German Workers Party and saw great potential in it.
       ● Agreed with Anton Drexler
Family Life:

       ● Born April 20th 1889
       ● 4th Child of Alois Schickelgruber and Klara Hitler
       ● 2 of his siblings died of diphtheria when children, another shortly after birth.
       ● Adolf was showered by love and affection by his Mother
       ● Moved three times, to Passau, to the farming community of Hafeld, and finally
across from a large Benedictine Monastery
      ● Father Died in 1903 due to Pleural Hemorrhage
WWI Experience:

       ● Escaped Death multiple times
       ● Always volunteered for dangerous assignments
       ● Was a dispatch runner.
       ● Injured only twice; had a piece of shrapnel in his leg, then was gassed by the
           British Cl2 gas.
        ● Received 5 medals, but never rose in rank due to his un militaristic nature.
Hitler Youth:

       ●Wanted to be a Priest
       ●Was beat by his father
       ●Artistic Talents
       ●Father died in 1903
●Mother Died of Iodoform (treatment of Breast Cancer)
Extreme Semitism:

       ● Because Hitler found no obvious Jewish people in his battalion or any among the
other soldiers he immediately assumed that there were none on the front, this was
the same as Marxists (Communists). What especially fueled this was the German
Workers Party, for the most part they shared the same ideals as Hitler, along with
the fact that no one did anything about what he said towards them.
17 January 2011 Hitler Project Colton Broughton

Assessment of Adolf Hitler:

Overall Hitler was a bad person, but then again anyone who was raised like him would
have a sense of not belonging anywhere, or would be damaged both mentally and possibly
even physically. From losing his father and Mother when still at a young age we see this take a
toll on his mind. The need to fight in World War I strengthened him and weakened him. He
got to see how things worked; he could first hand understand how things worked, what good
strategies were, and due to his incredible luck on the front, and having survived many near-
death experiences, he also gained a sense of invulnerability, which allows for a fearless
leader, but this also means he will expect extraordinary things from his troops. His exposure
to the Cl2 gas allowed him to see the horrors of this type of fighting and he respectfully did
not include these in his arsenal.
