4. WHAT IS THE HERITAGE SURVEY?
The Heritage Survey is a collection of descriptive, narrative
and photographic information about the physical and
historic aspects of the whole range of structures in Alberta.
It exists to support the programs of the Historic Resources
Management Branch of Alberta Culture, which include:
- the designation of significant historic resources,
- the interpretation of historic sites,
- the preservation and restoration of historic structures,
-the regulation of activities that may impact historic
structures

5. The Minister is responsible for
(a) the co-ordination of the orderly
development,
(b) the preservation,
(c) the study and interpretation,
and
(d) the promotion of appreciation
of Alberta’s historic resources.
