1. Vietnam Asset Management Company targets US$474 million of NPLs over the next two
months with special bonds that can be used to secure funding from the central bank. The
VAMC will begin buying NPLs in the next two weeks.
2. From June to mid-July, foreign investors withdrew around US$450 million from the
bond market and nearly US$100 million from the stock market due to increased inflation
pressure and the US Fed indicating an end of quantitative easing.
3. Aug 1: Chandler Corporation purchased 8.3% of Masan Group for a total of 11.14%
ownership.
4. Vietnam Airlines will seek to sell all of its shares and bonds in Techcombank as pat of the
national restructuring plan for SOEs to divest from non-core businesses
