such as: Bolter Operator, spinning time, age of resin and storage conditions, viscosity of resin, hole diameter consistency and temperatures
can affect the resin mix.
These and other variables can lead to issues such as: under mixed resin, over spinning of resin, gloving of the resin cartridge, non-centered
bolts, voids in resin anchorages, and resin pumping when using all thread bolts.
When pull testing a fully grouted bolt, the mine engineer cannot be certain that the entire resin column is properly mixed…especially the last
18” of the bolt - which is the most critical part of the bolting system because it is anchored in competent rock.
