The ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM OF THE YEAR prize was awarded to OMV Petrom at the third Romanian Energy Awards edition, for the implementation of the fuel efficiency system developed with IT Green Light’s technical support. Petrom and IT Green Light worked side by side to develop the fuel efficiency solution – FANICA - an entire concept that was designed to meet the exact needs of OMV Petrom’ s Exploration & Production (E&P) division. The IT Green Light team began to design and develop the system in May 2013, and after a three months implementation period, the company now offers fuel monitoring services for the entire Petrom’s E&P division.

1. FANICA HAS BEEN DECLARED THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM OF
THE YEAR AT THE ROMANIAN ENERGY AWARDS 2014
The ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM OF THE YEAR prize was awarded to OMV Petrom at the third
Romanian Energy Awards edition, for the implementation of the fuel efficiency system developed
with IT Green Light’s technical support.
Petrom and IT Green Light worked side by side to develop the fuel efficiency solution – FANICA - an
entire concept that was designed to meet the exact needs of OMV Petrom’ s Exploration &
Production (E&P) division. The IT Green Light team began to design and develop the system in May
2013, and after a three months implementation period, the company now offers fuel monitoring
services for the entire Petrom’s E&P division.
The implementation of the FANICA system brought OMV Petrom some important benefits for the
E&P division, such as:
 Real time fuel consumption monitoring on E&P Level, in any aria of E&P. Thus, decision
makers can be proactive, in order to control the data versus approved budgets and, in case
of an increase of the actual costs, to take proper measures.
 In the first quarter of 2014, the monthly average fuel consumption was reduced by
18%, with 12% reduced fuel consumption in only 3 months from the implementation.
 Transparency and a clear perspective over the fuel consumption, budget and costs vehicle,
devices and employee productivity.
On a long term, the FANICA system offers the possibility to identify high fuel consuming points and
to initiate projects for replacement or other corrective measures that in the end will bring fuel
economies and cost reductions. From the beginning of 2014, OMV Petrom and IT Green Light are
working on developing a similar pilot project for the electricity consumption efficiency.
