3. Business model
• ADHO business model
• Suggestions on long-term business models
from attendees (ideas to take forward...)
• Founding Committee to develop business
model in first year (discussed with Members
for comment before Incorporation)
• Interim Business model (year 1; what needs to
be done?)
4. Founding committee (one year term)
7 Members (6 minimum)
• Founding Chair (President)
• Founding Vice Chair (Vice President)
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• 3 Ordinary Members (executive officers)
5. Roles of Interim Officers
• Chair/Vice Chair
• Treasurer/ Secretary (largely set by
Incorporation Act)
• Ordinary Members
• (First public officer must reside in State of
Incorporation...set by Incorporation Act)
6. Voting procedures
• Attendees are the Association’s founding
members (one year)
• Attendees may nominate one person to each of
the Founding Committee categories
• Attendees may vote for one nominee from each
of the 4 Committee categories (ie. one vote per
category; done within 10 days)
• Nominees may appear only once on the ballot
• Nominees may reject a nomination and also
decline an elected position (next person elected!)
7. Action Plan: Setting priorities (for year
one)
• Build membership model (membership services)
• Business plan/ refine Constitution in consultation with
Interim Members
• Legal incorporation (within 1 year)
• Outreach (communications/web/forum).
Communication very important for new organisation
• Infrastructure (eScience/eResearch/cyber-
infrastructure)
• Member special Interest groups and affiliations
encouraged but co-ordinated by Founding Committee
8. Opening inaugural meeting
• Do we have a meeting in the next 6 months
that we could also coopt as out ‘inaugural
seminar’? And another 6 months after this?

• Broadly announce formation of an
Association, it’s Executive Committee and it’s
first meeting in the next two weeks (web
presence completed by then aadh.org.au
