Capacity Manager gathers management data from
the BigHand workflow and collates it into:

	 Backlog reporting
	 Calculation of required effort on tasks

Backlog reporting & effort calculation
Knowing how many tasks and hours of dictation
are in your work list is important, but the really
critical information is knowing how long it will
take a team to process a piece of work. Capacity
Manager gives firms a number of tools to calculate
the amount of secretarial effort required to
complete a task:
	 Automatically multiply dictation length by a
configurable multiplier
	 Assign a default effort estimate to a task type
	 Individually assess and assign efforts based
on the task’s metadata

BigHand Capacity Manager is the first productivity management platform for secretarial
and document production managers. Capacity Manager combines powerful analytics,
dashboarding and management tools into a single package which presents busy
managers with the management information they need to ensure that their teams and
processes are running efficiently.
Once this information is in the system, the
manager can view it on their dashboard and use
it to make informed resourcing decisions for their
team.
Output reporting
In addition to visibility of the work backlog,
managers also need to know how quickly their
team are completing work. The Output report
gives an overview of how much work has been
completed by each of the teams they manage,
so that they can quickly identify bottlenecks or
resourcing problems.

Service Level Management
A key focus of secretarial and document
production teams is providing high quality service
to their Fee Earners. Many firms set service level
targets for their teams to work towards, crucial in
defining expectations for turnaround times. The
SLA reports will allow managers to assess on a
daily, weekly or monthly basis whether their teams
are hitting their deadlines, gaining the ability to
make decisions in real time to keep on top of the
targets.
Secretarial Time Tracking
To be able to manage secretarial and document
production teams effectively, it is important to have
an understanding of how long it takes to process
a task. Many firms calculate this by manually
entering start and finish times for a task, but this
process is time consuming and inaccurate.
By using BigHand’s in-built time recording
abilities, we have created a secretarial output
report which will show how much effort has been
expended by secretaries or document production
