About Gallery City 2018:
Toronto’s free, self-guided, family-friendly art crawls return to Eglinton this summer
• It’s an Experience Eglinton initiative that connects artists with
businesses, leverages Torontonians’ universal appreciation of art
and culture, sets out to encourage more foot traffic along the
19km future home of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.
• Showcases > 100 local businesses and > 30 local artists
through a series of designated art crawls running all summer long
(Weston Road to Victoria Park).
• Eight (8) art crawl locations, each with a theme, including 2
special exhibits in partnership with Yonge-Eglinton Centre and
Eglinton Square (Victoria Park).
• Contest (30+ original art prizes) motivates art crawlers and gets
eyes and feet on to Eglinton.
• Joint initiative of Metrolinx, Crosslinx Transit Solutions –
Constructors (CTSC), the seven Eglinton BIAs, the Yonge
Eglinton Centre, Eglinton Square.
• Secured local art in large thanks to Eglinton-based, non-profit art
partners, namely Art Starts, Scarborough Arts and the Artbarn
School.
