4. RESUMPTION EXTENDED CONSTRUCTION HOURS FOR DEEP EXCAVATION

• Since 2019 crews at Eglinton Station have been working extended construction hours to
accelerate station construction
• In late June 2020, crews resumed extended construction hours to complete deep excavation
beneath the TTC box 15 metres below Eglinton Ave
• Using an excavator, soil is removed and stockpiled below Eglinton Ave until it is later loaded
into trucks and hauled to an off-site facility
• Excavation beneath the TTC box takes place Monday – Friday, 24 hours through August 2020
• Due to the location of this work and absence of associated surface works, limited noise is
generated during the overnight period
