4. What is the LOR?
Shared online space within D2L Brightspace
Houses learning objects
Any file or web resource you would normally use within
your courses
Each object has identifying metadata (title, description,
key words) to facilitate searches
7. LOR Admin: Roles/Permissions
Under Roles and Permissions, LOR is a separate
category
At minimum, set these for Admins, Teachers, and
Students, along with another other roles you wish
to have access to a LOR

12. LOR Admin: Creation/Trusts
Create a LOR. Riverland has two types:
Organization - all faculty at Riverland are able to publish to it and
share learning objects
Department – only faculty teaching courses within that department
have access and can share learning objects
For each, you need to establish Trusts, which
controls who has access
Trusts can be based on existing roles or customized
Department – by restricting it to a particular department, it will only
be visible to instructors of courses in that department

Find Learning Repository
Choose Publish

If new, do not need to
choose Overwrite

Choose Next
29. Identify Object Properties- then Publish
Select Description and
key words to help
identify document
This is helpful when
your LOR grows
Use terms, Course
IDs, dates, etc.
We include the course
number in the title
Choose Publish
