4. Duties & Responsibilities & Achievements
*in present organization I am looking after overall procurement of project material for
Greenfield project of polyesters for continuous polymer plant of CTI, china similar to zimmer
and dupont technology for poy and dty and psf yarn as final products.
I am handling sourcing of chemicals like
PTA,MEG,TIO2,SPINFINISH OILS,THERMIC FLIUDES,BRIGHT CHIPS ETC AS OUR MAIN RAW
MATERIALS. The value of bulk chemicals and material handled is upto the tune of rs 150 crores
Per month in present organization
I am responsible for arranging CHA agents for import of bulk chemicals from overseas suppliers
from , China, Korea, Germany and other locations.
When I was in Rama news print and papers ltd. I was responsible for procurement of raw
materials like , h2so4,hcl,talcum powder, caustic soda lye and flakes, lime, resins for bonding
purpose of newsprint etc.
• Targeted vendor development of Japanese component as per drawing in Indian market.
• Cos reduction by value engineering and negotiation with own costing of materials etc.
In all the organization I worked this is my core competency.
• I have an experience working as EPC procurement expert for green field projects and
procured all project related items like cement,steel,equipmentS for constructions
activity,capax and opex items for green field projects.
• Attended special training of SAP mm module for one week.
• Handled e-procurement of bulk materials and chemicals in Essar projects ltd
• Import substitution of items of vital nature and saving of huge cost as compared to import.
• Inventory control by lead-time evaluation and calculating min max levels of items and
control of the same.
• Stores location finalization and layout finalization for project stores and savings with lean
management.
• All project related items economic procurement and saving of around 10% against budgeted
expenses.
• Scientific vendor evaluation accordingly addition or deletion of vendors from approved list
• Development of systems for total integrated materials dept from scratch to execution for
good practice of department.
• Development of inbound and out bond system for SAP MM MODULE.
• Cost reduction by value engineering techniques, own costing and scientific negotiation with
vendors.
• Cost reduction in labor contract by time study and own costing of work contract.
• Transportation cost reduction by awarding contracts to transports based on distance and
weight of goods to be carried.
• Generating novel reports from SAP to give better decision making for management.
• Achieved cost reduction for projects by entering in to fix rate contracts with cement and
steel cos.
• Entered in rate contracts for regular consumable items to get better rates and reducing
frequent ordering, thus reduced cost of procurement dept.
• Import of all equipments required for projects from china, germany,Austria,korea tec.
Where import is required due to quality or only one recommended supplier for the
application.
• Procurement of all capital equipments like ,VAM,COMPRESSORS,MATERIAL HANDLING
EQUIPMENTS, DRIVES,PLCS,HT CAPACITORS,66 KVE SUBSTATION MATERIALS,FD FANS ,SYLOS
AND OTHER PRESSURE AND REACTION VESSELS, PANELS HT AND LT, VEHICALS FOR
ORGENISATIONS,PUMPS,VALVES,PIPES AND FITTINGS IN ALL MATERIAL OF
CONSTUCTIONS,MOTORS,CABLES,OFFICE EQUIPMENTS AND FURNITURE REQUIRED FOR AN
ORGENISATION.
