   • 21 hours awake is equivalent to a blood alcohol content of 0.8, the legal limit in the U.S.

   • The Journal of OccupaƟonal and Environmental Medicine reports that faƟgue costs U.S. employers more than $136 billion per year

     absences.

   • Sleep deficit has been linked to large scale disasters such as the Exxon Valdez oil spill, BP Texas City oil refinery explosion and the
