512445047625Dale Fickett, MBA<br />Social Entrepreneur<br />Dale has worked over the past three years to catalyze poverty alleviation through the support of local African ventures. Aside from hands-on work with micro-entrepreneurs, he has developed a conceptual model for an incubator to improve the flow of equity funding to high potential start-ups. Dale is also currently working under the guidance of the Director of Post Graduate Research, Trinity College, Dublin on the mobilisation of a new line of research on the identification and assessment of microenterprise opportunities. Dale’s passion for social engagement started at age 13, when he led an Eagle Scout project to benefit the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaire). Over the last 20 years he has worked in various capacities with global development, including efforts with Trócaire, Preda, Transfair, and other NGOs. <br />Dale’s incubator model started as a project he initiated with Accenture Development Partnerships, during his tenure with Accenture’s strategy practice. Over his ten years of professional experience Dale has led numerous corporate change programmes; driven various strategy engagements in business planning, capabilities strategy, and organisational strategy; and he led critical business development activities within the banking sector. As an entrepreneur, he built a chocolate wholesale and retail business from inception – writing the business plan, raising required capital, executing the launch, and overseeing all aspects of the company’s operations. While at the Wharton School’s Small Business Development Center, Dale assisted numerous entrepreneurs on the identification of opportunities, the development of strategy, pragmatic execution of their business plans, and the application of theoretical constructs to drive additional insight. <br />,[object Object]
