2. WORK EXPERIENCE
SAFETY OFFICER
Gold Fields Ghana Limited-Tarkwa Goldmine
 Report Morning meeting safety and environment issues.
 Daily routine inspections and recordings of hazard identified.
 Submit Hazard tracking report weekly to the safety coordinator.
 Coordinating HOD’s walk about inspections and follows up corrective actions and give
feedback reports.
 Conduct incident investigation as and when they occur.
 Follow-up on progress on Hazards identified and corrective action recorded previous week.
 Accompany the inspector of machinery as and when he visits for his legal inspections.
 Interface function in correcting mistakes, unsafe-Acts/Conditions on the job, prompt
corrective actions.
 Ensure GFGL employees replace their worn-out P.P.E timely as and when needed.
 Submit weekly hazard tracking records,corrective action and follow-up for a completion.
 Records update on the GFGL HSMS-OHSAS-18001 system elements electronic and Hard
copies in a file in the cabinet.
 Develop, review and conduct SOP’s,SWI & PTO’s Training for supervisors and employees
during annual leave resumption.
 Conducting Safety Induction Training for Sub-Contractors & Visitors.
 Ensure Mining Maintenance comply with legal requirement and other requirements. Such as
permits, lockout/Tag out and Isolation systems.

MECHANIC

 Inputting and generating daily SMU on Maintenance Control system (MCS)

 The use of Vims pc and Vims supervisor to improve availability of mining equipment
 Submitting weekly oils and lubricants report for stock replenishment.
MINECARE (CONTROL ROOM)

 Receive information on downtimes and uptimes of heavy duty equipment
 Receive down fault on equipment and channel to the right artisan
 The use of VNC to view global position system (gps) of equipment and accurate downtimes
of equipment from the secondary control room / Dispatch
 Inputting downtime, uptime and fault of equipment on MARS downtime (Database) for
public display on the mine intranet.
 Planned maintenance equipment being tracked and called to the workshop for servicing
