Our first intervention is to widen the influence of this road by changing the road system from

This interweaving through street pattern gives better chances for a comfortably layered Qin-
gpu New Town.

The cultural centre of the site is placed on the intersection of the north and south waterways
in the site. It forms a ‘water square’ that accommodates the political and cultural buildings of
the city centre. In the less central areas of the site the existing waterways are used as routes
for pedestrians and bicycles.
No need to say that keeping the water structure can also be read as a sustainable action.
Both the water buffering capacity and the refraining from moving the water holding bodies
are important sustainable deeds.
