game in the Fine Feather
Gallery at the RAMM
3. An Interview with Rick Lawrence, the Digital Media Officer at
RAMM.
Rick’s excitement at our trail !!
9. 2. THE BROWN KIWI
We have included a fun fact to
further the visitor engagement with
the object. We intend for the visitor
to get physically closer to the bird
to learn more about them
10. 3. CLAY MODELS
We have also set a task for the
explorer to find out how old the
artefact is. This is informative for
a child to find out how old some
objects are in the museum.
11. 2. BIRD ON TOTEM POLE
We have included a question to
engage the child and invite them
to examine the artefact further.
12. 5. TAPESTRY
The children can learn bout
Egyptian culture and the tapestry
still fits within the bird theme of
our trail. The tapestry is good
because it is another type of
artefact.
13. 6. EGUNGUN MASK
Similarly to the tapestry the artefact
educates the child about a different
culture and its history whilst in keeping
with the bird theme.
We included a sound clip of the Yoruba
tribe in their festival to give the child
another level of interaction.
14. 7. HUIA
BIIRDS
This stop educates the child on
taxidermy and conservation of
species. It mentions different
conservation methods; such as
breeding programmes and bird
protection charities.
15. 8. WOOD DUCK
FUN FACT: ‘wood ducks are
dabbling ducks and they search
for food while swimming’
16. 9. LAMP FILLER WITH TWO OWLS
FUN FACT: ‘Owls have 3 eyelids; one for
blinking, one for sleeping and one for
keeping the eye clean and healthy’
We have included a sound of the Tawny
Owl.
17. 10. RAMM SHOP
Finishing the trail in the gift shop
is beneficial because hopefully
the child will demand a souvenir!!
