2. Quick Recap on Starting a Business Account 1. You must have a personal account. Facebook requires a person to be associated with a Business. This way if Facebook needs to contact the business, they have a point of reference. 2. Log into your personal facebook account. 3. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and look for “Create a Page” 4. Click “create a page” and follow the directions.

3. Adding Friends 1. To add friends, you must first FIND them. There are a couple of ways you can do this. A. The Search Bar

8. Other Tools If you choose “Other Tools” you will be given the option to search for friends, classmates and co-workers.

10. Suggest to Friends When logged into your personal facebook account, navigate to your business page and suggest it to your friends

11. Suggest to Friends Clicking Suggest to Friends will pop up a box that has all of your friends. 1. This is what your recommendation will look like. 2. You must click on the friends you want to send the recommendation to. 3. Then simply click the Send button. 4. Each time I do this I have new friends, so it is not bad to do this every once in a while

12. Use Facebook as Page When you have a business page you can do facebook activities AS that business. In the top right corner of your page go to the Account drop-down. Find Use Facebook as Page And select the business page. Benefits of this would be…. Your business can “like” other businesses. You can comment AS your business instead of yourself.

13. What Can I Do to Use Facebook for business If you have a blog, you can feed it to your business account. If you have a newsletter, you can add a link to sign up on facebook. You should have a Vanity URL if you want to easily direct people to your business facebook. You can add your Facebook URL to your email signature and website. Post business updates on your business account, AND share on the LTBRN Facebook. Upcoming projects Sales Fundraisers New Products Changes such as hours or holiday closures “Like” other LTBRN posts You can share useful articles (i.e. Way2Tahoe info etc…) Use Facebook Places so your customers can check-in Share survey results or research data 10. The average facebook user has 130 friends and uses their account EVERYDAY. That means your active audience is the number of “likes” you have multiplied by 130.
