2. Brief requirements
The NHS has asked me to make a creative
response to one of the themes raised in the better
health campaign.
The audience is primarily 16-20 years old, and this
campaign is to encourage young people to live a
healthier lifestyle and to improve health and
wellbeing as a result
3. Audience Research
• For the audience research I found out a lot of interesting things
• The survey told me that 85 percent of young people do not smoke meaning smoking isn't a massive
issue with young people however 35 percent of them do not enjoy exercise and 71 percent don’t
eat their 5 a day on top of this 64 percent of people don’t live a healthy lifestyle and are not
motivated enough to get healthy- Due to this information I thought it would be best to focus on the
healthy eating/getting active parts of the campaignrather than the quit smoking part.
• The focus group taught me that viewers are drawn in by certain colours as well as this they can
resonate better with an advert better if there are people that are there age in it
4. Client research
• The NHS , also known as the national healthcare service, is a
publicly funded healthcare service in the UK, They are funded
by general taxation which helps provide the nation free
healthcare. The NHS was formed on the 5th of July 1948
making it so that health was available to everyone who could
afford it. Since the NHS is publicly funded it can be
underfundedat times so they have made campaigns to keep
the nation healthy if they are healthy they will be in hospital
less and if they are in hospital less, the NHS will spend less
money on them, therefore, saving more money
5. Exisiting products
• Previously the NHS has done many different campaigns for
different age groups such as change4life which is a group of
different coloured cartoon people showing young people how
to eat healthier as well as this they have done dry January
which is to get adults to quit drinking for a month and many
others looking at these previous campaigns, I learned how the
NHS has done campaigns previously and what has worked
and hasn’t for them in the past
6. The themes
•The theme I am choosing to focus on is eating
better as according to my research the
majority amount of people do exercise whether
its full-on gym exercises or just walking the dog
7. The products I will be making
• The products I will be making is a print advert and a radio advert
• The reason for a print advert is that they can catch the eye of people and since this is targeted at
young people this can be something that is seen and not skipped as they will be using streaming
services and youtube as well as this it could in theory also be used on social media like instagram to
get more young people to see it
• The reason for the radio advert is that radio can deliver to a massiveaudience as not only can it be
heard by radio users on one station but also thousands of stations as well as this it can be put on
Spotify for people listening to music on there can hear it leading to a bigger audience than a video
advert
8. Examples and how they will work
The print adverts will be bright colours featuring people of a young age
eating/makinghealthy food. They will also have info on them like the benefits of healthy
eating and a qr code to the nhs website.
RADIO
ADVERT
The radio advert will be a young person talkingabout the benefits of eating better as well
as this they will say what to search up at the end to get support and more information.
