Folder Structure Process
All design files from the initial creative through the final approved creative should be saved
here:
+ Print Comps
+ PSDs
+ Endframes
+ Backup JPGs
+ Skins
+ Rich Media Expandables
+ Standard Flash Motion Storyboard designs
• FLAs and SWFs will only be included if an Art Director designs in Flash instead of
Photoshop
• The files of the first creative pass sent to the client should be placed in the
“_INITIAL_PRESENTATION” folder
• Once the first round of client notes are received and addressed, a “ROUND_1” folder
should be created within the size folder with the latest design saved (new JPGs and
PSDs included). Every time client feedback is received, a new folder round is created.
Make sure you include the date in the folder title. Do not overwrite old creative.
• Files for a TAKEOVER should be saved by size (NOT in its own takeover folder). If there
is a custom design for that takeover, add the site’s name to the folder title. (IE:
“300x250_Yahoo”). For example, takeover skins should be in the skin folder, takeover
flash should be in the flash folder, etc.
• The comps for the Flash unit must always be in the Flash design folder. Then a copy
of that final PSD for the Flash unit goes into the “PRODUCTION” folder when
approved for animation. ONLY static unit designs go in “STATIC” folder.
• All files should be saved to the server at the end of every day.
• When a design has final approval (and ready to be sent to production or for final
delivery), only the last round of approved layers should remain in the PSD. All layers
should be clearly labeled.
• Once approved, place a copy of the final PSD and backup JPGs in the Production
folder.

“SPECS” FOLDER:
• Your producer will send you specs in the form of a breakout doc (or LCD). If you have
any questions regarding specs, please ask your producer for clarification / more
information immediately.
• Guidelines:
◦ Standard size banners are typically 40k (flash / jpgs) - unless otherwise specified
◦ Skins (without site content) should be saved out to 100k for delivery - unless
otherwise specified
◦ Banners should be saved out with a 1 pixel border - unless otherwise specified
◦ Backup JPGs should be saved out for ALL animated banners
⁃ DO NOT include social, replay or close buttons unless specified
⁃ DO NOT include a video player
◦ File Naming Convention: “Campaign_Size_DateCode”
◦ Additional templates can be found in the “DOCUMENTATION” folder
CHECK YOUR WORK
• Please check your work before sending back to the producer – this includes click tags,
feedback changes, file dimensions, etc.
⁃ Use the Producer’s list of notes as an actual checklist to mark things off
• Please keep your PSDs tidy and name all the layers. Keep Flash files tidy as well.
⁃ Since projects are passed among the creative/programming team, we want to
make transitions as smooth as possible.
• All files should be saved to the server at the end of every day.
APPROVAL
1. Present your designs to your CD (Mike Eller | Dustin Mattock | Ali Roberto) using the
Producer’s email as a checklist to review the comps
2. After receiving approval from your CD, then review with the Producer. **To eliminate
preemptive deliveries, DO NOT send unapproved creative to the Producer.

Folder Structure Process
PRODUCTION FOLDER
All programming files from the initial attempt through the final approved unit will be saved
here:
+ Approved PSDs, FLVs, FLAs, SWFs
+ Final backup static JPGs should be with each unit
+ MOVs should also be included here
• Designers will make a copy of the final PSD and backup JPGs to place into the
corresponding size folder in “Production”
◦ Typically we will have multiple backup JPGs per date code variation
• Before the programmer begins, they need to have a quick scrum with the designer to
go over the PSD together.
• The first pass of programming files should go in “Round_01”.
◦ There should be no loose files, EVERY file type should be within its size / round.
• Once client notes are received and addressed, a new “ROUND_#” folder should be
created within the size folder with the newest files saved. Do not overwrite old
creative.
• Files for a TAKEOVER should be saved by size (NOT in its own takeover folder). If there
is a custom design for that takeover, add the site’s name to the folder title (i.e.
“300x250_Expand_Yahoo”).
• All files should be saved to the server at the end of every day.
• If a unit is approved, being hosted or finalized by the site and ready for delivery - all
necessary files the site will need should be duplicated and placed neatly into a
“_deliver” folder within the final round.
