The Questions… 1. What were your first impressions from watching the music video? 2. Do you think the performance/concept based music video worked for this genre of music? 3. What do you think of the location for this music video? Could it be improved? 4. What did you think of the variety of camera angles used in this music video? 5. Was the lighting suitable for the music video/location/genre of music? 6. Do you think the balance of performance and concept (toys) was even, or was there too much/too little of one? 7. Did you notice any continuity problems? 8. How did this compare to other music videos of a similar genre that you have seen? 9. Did you think that the shots were synched with the music? (lip sync, cutting on beats, etc…) 10. On the scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate it? (1 being lowest, 10 being highest)
The Answers 1. Really good, love the little Lego men 2. Yes it was evenly spread out and is typical of this genre of music 3. It was very suitable and made it feel like were playing in the toy warehouse 4. There was wide range of camera angles used. 5. Yeah the lighting was suitable and was a very good idea the bright colours kinda matched with the idea of toys 6. Think it was very even may have been slightly more performance but didn’t throw off the concept. 7. No 8. Similar but different nice ideas used and can tell its from that genre of music 9. Yes I think that the shots were very well synched with the music was as if recorded live 10. 10
The Answers 1. Inventive 2. In some respect but I think you should experiment with different styles. 3. Yes, although the warehouse (I think it was that) is a good place to set it I don’t think it worked with the theme of the song. 4. Good 5. Yes, it set a healthy contrast with the theme. 6. More toys, less performance. 7. Nope 8. It has potential. 9. Seemed to be. 10. 6, I thought it was good though, I'm not being harsh just honest.
The Answers 1. Really well thought of and constructed. Came across like a professional music video. 2. The genre fitted perfectly with the concept, it related well to the lyrics. 3. A warehouse is mentioned in the song so good location choice. 4. A wide range of camera angles gave the whole thing a better look and higher end quality, cleverly done. 5. It added another professional layer to the video as the lighting kept in time with the rhythm perfectly. 6. It was a nice balance of shots. 7. Me personally no, but I don't know these things. Seemed to link and flow well. 8. It was definitely up there in the top ones I saw, if not the best. 9. Yes, didn't seem phased by any problems. 10. A solid 8/10
The Answers 1. Wow. 2. Yes - both linked to the song really well. 3. No location was perfect, it seemed to act as a toy factory. 4. Effectively used, stop frame animation was perfect as well. 5. Lighting was, especially the use of colourisation, fitted really well and to the lyrics. 6. Even 7. Nope, all worked well. 8. It was better. 9. Yeah, everything seemed on beat, lip syncing point of view shots worked really well. 10. 10
The Answers 1. Professional 2. Yes 3. Possibly, it isn't clear why you used a warehouse, or was it where all the toys were hiding/waiting to go on to shops? 4. Varied, it would have been cool if you could have got a high angle shot of the band, but they were really good. 5. No, the different lights were really good and "emphasised" the children theme. 6. Balance was good, but there was more shots of the band i think? Maybe not, the lead singers just got a very memorable face. 7. Nope 8. Good 9. They were... perfection. 10. 7.5 or 8
The Answers 1. I thought that the music video was a very creative piece and fit the music that it was supposed to be supporting without distracting you from the music. 2. Yes I do because indie rock music is supposed to be light hearted and fun and I think this was perfectly shown in the music video. 3. I think the location of the music video was extremely good. My expectations were of a school or a public place but I think by having a whole warehouse to shoot the video got rid of many limitations that other music videos might have had. 4. I thought that there was a nice variety of camera angles in the video to keep the video fast paced and exciting whilst also showing off all the different elements of the video. 5. The lighting of the video was suitable as it gave the video a mysterious effect that I think helped emphasise the fact that strange things were going on in the toy factory. 6. I think there was a perfect balance between performance and concept as there was just enough performance to remind the audience that we were watching a music video but enough concept to tell an interesting and visually stimulating video. 7. I did not notice any continuity problems. 8. I think that compared to other music videos of a similar genre that I have seen this video is very creative. 9. I think that everything in this video was synced with the music. 10. I would rate this video 9 out of 10.
The Answers 1. It’s creative and goes well with the song and genre aimed at. 2. Definitely, works well with the style. The actors fit the genre and work well together. 3. I think it fitted then genre and also fits with the concept of the video. 4. There was several used and used well, a particular favourite, was when the actor held the camera and span, it gave a good effect. 5. Yes 6. To little, I think the background board games weren’t used to full potential , but theme was clear throughout . 7. No 8. It fits in well. 9. Yes 10. 10
