Food for thought
1.
2. Joe’s dream is to tell everyone about the
impact of world hunger. It’s a message
he’ll spread from one country to another
on foot.
Joe is the founder of the Hunger 500 - a
marathon that will take him from
Washington, D.C. to the University of
Guelph near Toronto, Canada.
3. Henry said. “This is one way I am fighting
world hunger and brining attention to a
problem that affects us all.”
Joe Henry explains his inspiration, “When
I learned that nearly one billion people
suffer from chronic hunger, and more
than 25,000 die every day, it motivated
me to try to help in some way: it is these
people that I will be running for”.
4. In February, Joe will run a staggering 500
miles from Washington, D.C. to the
University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario,
Canada. He will run for 17 days
averaging 30 miles per day and end at
the 6th Annual Universities Fighting World
Hunger (UFWH) Summit at the University
of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
5. Henry and the aptly named Hunger 500
Team are committed to raising
awareness and $100,000 to fight world
hunger. This money can potentially feed
25,000 school children one meal with
WFP’s School Meals Program.
