PETROPHYSICIST WITH RESEARCH, ENGINEERING, AND FIELD EXPERIENCE
As your petrophysicist, the candidate will use his knowledge and experience to reduce risk and increase
profitability through the processing, analysis, and interpretation of well log, core, mud, and cuttings
data. His research and engineering experience, particularly with magnetic resonance (NMR), neutron,
and spectroscopy measurements, will ensure that data are being properly handled and interpreted. As a
recognized communicator, he will clearly present results and their implications to clients and internal
stakeholders.
Techlog Wireline and Logging While Drilling
Python Conventional and unconventional plays
Matlab Oral and written communication
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Patented method to combine acoustic excitation with NMR detection to develop a novel, direct
measurement of fluid mobility and permeability of a porous medium.
Created petrophysics workflows by writing Python scripts that enabled the entire team to
process data more efficiently and uniformly and with reduced uncertainty.
Taught two worldwide internal audiences of geoscientists about the physics of neutron
measurements that allowed selling up services to clients.
Developed new method that provides thermal neutron porosities from pulsed neutron
measurements.
Presented the second-highest rated talk at the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts
(SPWLA) Annual Symposium resulting in recognition as Distinguished Speaker.
Led the development of petrophysics client solutions for a pulsed-neutron spectroscopy tool.
Investigated the combination of mild focused ultrasonic heating of tissue with MRI temperature
mapping that produced a new method for treatment of disease using gene therapy.
Elected to lead an internal technical special interest group on NMR that resulted in the group’s
first ever meeting of worldwide company experts.
